Tragic Accident Claims Life of 12-Year-Old in Tuscaloosa County
A tragic accident in Tuscaloosa County has resulted in the death of a 12-year-old boy, along with injuries to four others, including two more children. The crash occurred around 4:45 p.m. on Sunday on Romulus Road, approximately eight miles west of Northport. According to Alabama State Trooper Cpl. Reginal King, the victim from Coker was a passenger in a Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck that was struck by a Ford F-150 driven by a 16-year-old from Northport.
The boy was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the incident and was pronounced dead at the scene. The names of juvenile victims have not been disclosed. The Chevrolet’s driver, 36-year-old Zosima M. Andabalo from Coker, was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center for treatment. Two other passengers in the Chevrolet—a 14-year-old and a 5-year-old—also suffered injuries and were hospitalized, although their conditions remain undisclosed.
The teen driving the Ford F-150 was among those injured and was also taken to a hospital for care. The Alabama State Troopers are currently conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash, working to piece together the details of this heartbreaking episode. The community mourns the loss of the young life and supports those affected by the accident.
