Tragic Double Fatality in Albertville Car Crash Involving Local Teens
ALBERTVILLE, Ala. — A devastating car accident on Arley Lacey Road resulted in the deaths of two teenage girls, ages 15 and 13, on Wednesday. According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), the group was driving a 2015 Nissan Altima when the vehicle veered off the road, striking a tree stump, sign post, and fence. The 13-year-old passenger, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, an 18-year-old from Albertville, sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital, while two other passengers, a 17-year-old and a 15-year-old, also from the area, were taken to Huntsville Hospital with injuries. Unfortunately, the 15-year-old succumbed to her injuries the following day.
Albertville City Schools reported that all four teenagers were students within the district. Superintendent Dr. Bart Reeves expressed heartfelt condolences to the families affected by the tragedy and emphasized the school’s commitment to supporting students during this challenging time. The school has deployed counselors and support staff to assist impacted students and plans to provide continued support in the days ahead.
The Alabama State Troopers are actively investigating the incident to determine the cause of the crash as multiple emergency services responded to the scene. Community members are urged to keep the grieving families in their thoughts and prayers.
