Hope Christian Academy Celebrates New Sports Facility in Oxford, AL
Hope Christian Academy in Oxford, Alabama, recently marked a significant milestone with the ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new sports home at the Big Jack Stovall Sports Complex. The event took place under sunny skies, highlighting the facility’s transformation over the last two years, which has been met with enthusiastic support from the community, including local officials and family members of the complex’s namesake, “Big Jack” Stovall.
Nic Burns, head of the school, praised the contributions that made the renovations possible. “From what it was two years ago to what it is now is amazing,” said Jackie Stovall, the honoree’s son. Hope Christian Academy, operating out of the former Grace Baptist Church building, serves approximately 140 students from pre-K through 12th grade and anticipates expanding its enrollment soon.
The complex includes a new nearly-finished baseball field and will feature facilities for football and softball, with plans to introduce these sports by the 2025-26 school year. Head baseball coach Roby Brooks, also affiliated with the Choccolocco Monsters, expressed excitement over the facility, calling it “one of the best around.”
As the academy launches its inaugural varsity baseball season, players, including Eli Bozeman and Aziah Amberson, are enthusiastic about building the program’s legacy. Hope Christian Academy is a part of the Alabama Independent Schools Association and aims to foster a robust athletic culture.
