Special Commencement Event at The University of Alabama
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Alabama will hold a special commencement ceremony on Thursday, May 1, at 6:30 p.m. in Coleman Coliseum to celebrate the graduating class of 2025. Esteemed speakers, including President Donald J. Trump, UA President Stuart R. Bell, and former Crimson Tide football coach Nick Saban, will address attendees.
Spring commencement candidates will receive priority seating, with free tickets offered to their guests, as well as summer and fall graduates, faculty, and staff. Attendees are advised to arrive early—at least two hours before the ceremony—due to enhanced security measures. Doors will open at 3 p.m., and parking will be available at the Soccer Lot, accessible from University Boulevard, with shuttle services provided to Coleman Coliseum.
Guests must adhere to security protocols, including bringing only clear bags, and certain items will be prohibited. Details regarding prohibited items can be found on the event’s website, and surrendered items at security checkpoints will not be returned.
In addition to this special ceremony, the university will continue with college-specific commencement events from May 2 to 4, where graduates’ names will be announced and degrees conferred.
As Alabama’s flagship university, UA is committed to excellence in education, research, and service, having over 200 degree programs and 30 research centers that foster innovation and economic growth throughout the state and beyond.
