Meet the 2025 ASWA All-State boys basketball teams
The 2025 Alabama Sports Writers Association (ASWA) All-State boys basketball teams have been announced, showcasing the standout talents of the season. Hoover’s senior duo, DeWayne Brown and Salim London, led their team to an undefeated record and secured a third consecutive Class 7A state title. Brown, a Tennessee signee and 6-foot-9 center, showcased his prowess with a double-double average of 14.5 points and 10.1 rebounds per game, while also contributing 84 blocked shots. London, a 6-foot-5 guard heading to UAB, supported the team’s offensive strategy with averages of 16 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game.
The All-State teams include first, second, and third teams, along with honorable mentions across classifications. Nominations were made by coaches and voted on by a statewide committee. Player of the Year finalists will be revealed soon, with an annual banquet scheduled for April 17 in Montgomery.

Class 6A:
- First Team: Jaylen Alexander (Oxford) and others.
Class 5A:
- First Team: Zak Cain (East Limestone) and others.
The talent doesn’t stop there, with additional selections across all classifications down to Class 1A and AISA, reflecting a diverse range of players contributing to the competitive landscape of Alabama high school basketball this season.
