MidCity hosts new mini-festival for July 4th
MidCity to Host Exciting Three-Day Fourth of July Celebration
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — This July Fourth weekend, organizers in MidCity are planning a vibrant three-day celebration featuring live music, fireworks, and a brand-new mini-festival at Apollo Park aimed at fostering a family-friendly atmosphere. Joanna White, managing director of the Apollo Coalition, highlighted the milestone event as the first mini-festival in the park alongside traditional fireworks.
The festivities will commence on the opening night with a packed schedule, including performances by live bands Sister Luck and Maclin & Co., followed by fireworks synchronized to music on Mix 96.9. “The fireworks will light up the sky at 9:30 PM, paired with a patriotic Glow Party in the park,” White shared.
The event is designed to provide a welcoming space for families to gather and enjoy the holiday together. White emphasized the importance of creating a safe environment for families to celebrate, particularly during festive occasions like fireworks.
The festival requires extensive preparation, but White finds the effort enjoyable and rewarding. “Planning big events is satisfying, especially when we can bring the community together,” she said. Collaborations with local partners, including the U.S. Space & Rocket Center and U.S. Army Recruiting, will enhance the experience, offering additional activities for children and families.
Throughout the weekend, attendees can look forward to various family-friendly events, ensuring a memorable celebration in MidCity.
