In a remarkable turnaround, Natasha Smallwood, head coach of the Albertville Lady Aggies, has been named the Alabama High School Girls’ Basketball Coach of the Year by the Alabama High School Sportswriters’ Association (AHSWA). After a challenging previous season, where the team posted a 5-19 record, Smallwood led the Aggies to an impressive 29-5 finish, culminating in a run to the regional finals before falling to Hoover.
Prior to her time at Albertville, Smallwood enjoyed a successful decade at Susan Moore High School, amassing a stellar 227-70 record (.764 winning percentage) from 2015 to 2024.
