As Gadsden prepares to celebrate Independence Day, several road closures are scheduled to ensure the safety and enjoyment of attendees. On Friday, July 4, 2025, the Gadsden Free America Weekend event will take place at Moragne Park, located at 100 Moragne Avenue. The festivities are set to begin at 4:00 PM CDT and conclude at 7:00 PM CDT. To accommodate the event, Riverside Drive and Moragne Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic starting at 2:00 PM. Access to Riverside Drive will be redirected via South 1st Street. The city fireworks show is scheduled for 9:00 PM, so attendees are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets to enjoy the display. Food vendors will be available along Highway 411 to provide refreshments between the end of the rally and the start of the fireworks. (map.peoplesmarch.com)
Additionally, the Gadsden-Etowah Patriots Association will host an Independence Day fireworks show at Coosa Landing on July 4, 2025, at 9:00 PM. Prime viewing spots include the Convention Hall and Mort Glosser Amphitheater parking lots, as well as the Coosa Landing parking lot. Fireworks will be launched from the Coosa Landing walking trail directly behind Bargain Hunt and Harbor Freight on George Wallace Drive. (weisradio.com)
