Scottsboro Police Capture Shooting Suspect with Drone Technology
In a recent incident in Scottsboro, Alabama, authorities apprehended shooting suspect Daniel McCarn after a thorough search that included drone surveillance. The sequence of events began late Saturday night when a local business owner alerted the police after spotting McCarn on security footage. Responding promptly, Lt. Coty Durham deployed a drone equipped with thermal imaging to locate the suspect near railroad tracks.
Around 9:56 PM, officers successfully found McCarn and took him into custody without resistance. Lt. Durham noted McCarn’s unusual demeanor during his arrest, describing him as unresponsive and blank-faced. Earlier that day, a Scottsboro officer was shot during a domestic disturbance involving McCarn. The officer, whose name remains undisclosed, is currently in stable condition at Huntsville Hospital, with non-life-threatening injuries. Lt. Durham assured the community that the officer is on the mend and hopeful for a swift recovery.
The pursuit for McCarn unfolded after the officer was shot at the scene of the incident early Saturday morning, prompting a Blue Alert due to the potential threat he posed.
