Tuscaloosa Oktoberfest Coming To Government Plaza Next Month
Tuscaloosa Oktoberfest Returns with Festivities and Fun
TUSCALOOSA, AL — The highly anticipated Tuscaloosa Oktoberfest will bring German-inspired food, beer, and a host of lively activities to Government Plaza on September 20. This year’s event features a lineup that includes the popular Dachshund Dash, a new dog costume contest, a stein-hoisting competition, and Hammerschlagen, a traditional German nail-driving game. With food and drink available throughout the day, families can also enjoy a complimentary Kids Zone.
Kelsey Rush, President and CEO of Visit Tuscaloosa, expressed excitement for the event, noting the partnership with organizations like UA Online and Mercedes-Benz U.S. International Inc. Admission to the festival is free, but attendees wishing to enjoy beer must purchase a commemorative stein for $10. For those seeking a premium experience, VIP tickets will be available for $75, providing food, drinks, and access to air-conditioned restrooms, with only 200 tickets being sold.
The festivities kick off with the Mercedes-Benz U.S. International 5k at 8 a.m. Participants can register for the 5k at $45, which includes a T-shirt, stein, and one beer for runners aged 21 and over. A Kids 1k is also available for $25. For more details on tickets, registration, and a full schedule of events, visit the official event page.
