Free EV showcases coming soon in Cullman and Huntsville
Explore Electric Vehicles at Upcoming Exhibitions in North Alabama
Drive Electric Alabama is hosting two free electric vehicle (EV) showcases in September aimed at demystifying the world of EVs for the public. The first event will take place on Saturday, September 13, from 9 a.m. to noon at Cullman Electric Cooperative’s annual meeting, followed by a second showcase on Saturday, September 20, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Tesla Superchargers in MidCity, Huntsville.
Michael Staley, President of the Alabama Clean Fuels Coalition, emphasizes that these events aim to separate fact from fiction amidst the politicization surrounding EVs. Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with EV owners and view a range of vehicles, including sedans, SUVs, and performance cars. Staley encourages skeptics to attend, stating that many are benefiting from attractive deals on both new and used EVs.
The showcases also highlight the impending end of federal tax credits for EV purchases, set to expire on September 30. Alabama Power customers can enjoy added incentives, such as reduced overnight electricity rates and a $500 rebate for home charger installations.
“Discussing EV experiences with daily drivers can help dispel myths and clarify the cost benefits and performance advantages of these vehicles,” Staley notes. Sponsorship for the events comes from Drive Electric Alabama and the Alabama Clean Fuels Coalition. For more details, visit driveelectricalabama.com.
