Alabama Dominates Wisconsin for Second Straight Year
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Ty Simpson showcased his prowess with a stellar performance, throwing for 382 yards and four touchdowns as No. 19 Alabama handily defeated Wisconsin 38-14 on Saturday. Simpson, completing 24 of 29 passes, highlighted his efficiency by achieving over 80% completion in back-to-back games, a feat matched only by former star Mac Jones.
Ryan Williams, returning from a concussion, was pivotal with five catches for 165 yards, including a thrilling 75-yard touchdown on Alabama’s first possession of the second half. Receiver Germie Bernard contributed with two touchdowns, while transfer Isaiah Horton scored once again. Alabama has shown remarkable offensive consistency, scoring on 17 of the last 20 possessions.
On defense, Alabama limited Wisconsin to just 209 yards, with Bray Hubbard leading the charge with two interceptions and four sacks. Wisconsin’s Danny O’Neil, stepping in for the injured Billy Edwards, managed a touchdown pass to Jayden Ballard but struggled overall, marking the Badgers’ second consecutive loss to Alabama after a combined beating of 80-24 in two meetings.
Looking ahead, Alabama, now at 2-1, has a critical bye week to rest and recover, with key players on track to return. Coach Kalen DeBoer emphasized the need for continued momentum as the Tide gears up for a challenging matchup against No. 6 Georgia. Meanwhile, Wisconsin hopes to regroup next week against Maryland as they embark on Big Ten play.
