Field Day Opens in Huntsville, Offering Fun for Everyone
Field Day, a new entertainment complex located adjacent to GigaParts on University Drive, celebrated its grand opening on August 31, drawing significant excitement from the local community. The venue features a diverse menu of specially crafted food and a well-stocked bar, coupled with a self-pour beer wall. Visitors can partake in a variety of engaging activities, including indoor mini golf, duckpin bowling, axe throwing, interactive darts, and a multi-sport simulator, along with free karaoke.
Outside, massive 25-ft screens showcase a range of sporting events, from college football to local soccer games, while family-friendly outdoor games like cornhole and giant Jenga invite playful interaction. Founder Matt Hubbard expressed his delight at the venue’s robust opening attendance, emphasizing the goal of fostering connections among families, friends, and colleagues.
Hubbard, who has a decade of experience in the entertainment industry, drew inspiration for Field Day from nostalgic childhood memories. He aimed to create an atmosphere reminiscent of carefree school days. Drawing on his successful ventures in similar entertainment venues, he chose Huntsville, partly to be closer to his wife’s family.
Unique offerings, such as high-tech axe-throwing and a versatile multi-sport simulator, cater to diverse interests. For sports fans, Field Day promises to air key college games simultaneously to accommodate local loyalties. The venue also plans free community events, including movie nights and karaoke, alongside corporate packages for team-building. Ultimately, Field Day aims to be a welcoming space for relaxation and recreation, encouraging everyone to treat it as an extension of their own backyard.
