Major Construction Projects Surge in Huntsville Area
In 2025, Huntsville Hospital’s Madison Street Tower expansion emerged as the most costly construction project in the Huntsville area, which saw over $2.3 billion in new ventures across Madison, Limestone, and Morgan counties. Among notable developments, the Clearview Cancer Institute in Decatur and the Ditto Landing event center also marked significant investments.
Local permits indicate Huntsville issued 2,451 permits worth $1.1 billion, with other municipalities like Madison County and Decatur following suit. The Huntsville Hospital expansion, overseen by the Robins & Morton Group, includes a 154,000 square-foot addition featuring a new Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit and a Neuro Intensive Care Unit. The expansion aims to increase the hospital’s capacity to 931 beds.
In addition to this project, Robins & Morton is also constructing the $37 million Clearview Cancer Institute and involved in multiple other developments at Huntsville International Airport. Other prominent builders include Lennar Homes and Davidson Homes, focusing on affordable housing across the region.
