January Events to Kick Off the Spring Semester
As the spring semester begins, January offers a variety of events designed to enhance student engagement and community involvement at UA. Kicking off the month is the Welcome Back Weeks from January 7-31, featuring free activities organized by students, providing opportunities for reconnection and exploration of campus life through social media updates.
Among the highlights, the TSA PreCheck® and Passport Fair on January 10 (8 a.m.-2 p.m.) at the UA Passport Acceptance Facility prepares students for spring break travel, requiring appointments for the new TSA PreCheck® service.
On January 14, a Blackburn Institute Interest Session from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at the Student Center will inform attendees about the application process and student experiences within the program. Later that evening, the Realizing the Dream Concert at 7:30 p.m. at Moody Music Concert Hall will celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a performance by gospel artist Smokie Norful.
Additional events include an Entrepreneur Resource Groups Meeting on January 20, an Adobe Portfolio Session on January 26, and the Law School Fair on January 29 from noon-3 p.m., featuring numerous ABA-accredited law schools.
Completing the month’s offerings, the virtual “Nourish to Flourish: Intuitive Eating” session on January 30 (noon-1 p.m.) aims to promote a healthy relationship with food. For community events, “Screenagers: The Next Chapter” on January 14 and a concert by Braxton Keith on January 29 highlight local entertainment options.
