Alabama high school softball: AHSAA 2025 playoff and championship schedule, locations, times
The Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) softball playoffs are set to commence this week, starting with area tournaments from April 25-29. Teams, seeded by their regular-season performance, will compete in these initial rounds. The regional tournaments will follow the next week, culminating in the state tournament in Oxford from May 12-16.
In the double-elimination format of the state tournament, teams will need to lose twice to be eliminated, beginning at the area tournament stage. Key dates for the playoffs include the submission of area brackets by April 22 and regional competitions taking place from May 5-8 in locations such as Gulf Shores, Montgomery, Albertville, and Florence.
The schedule for the state tournament kicks off on May 12 with Classes 2A and 5A. The action continues through May 16, featuring title games for each class at designated times. Notably, Class 2A’s championship will begin at 2:15 p.m. CT on May 13, followed by Class 5A’s finale that evening. Classes 3A and 7A will join on May 14, with their respective title games held later that day. The tournament wraps up with Class 6A on May 16, where the state title contest starts at 2 p.m.
Additionally, the AISA Softball State Tournament is scheduled for May 1-3 at Lagoon Park in Montgomery, adding further excitement to the spring softball season.
