Alabama Sports Hall of Fame announces Class of 2026 inductees
New Inductees Announced for Alabama Sports Hall of Fame
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – The Alabama Sports Hall of Fame Board of Directors has unveiled the latest class to be inducted, marking the 58th annual ceremony since the Hall’s inception in 1969. The induction banquet will take place on May 9, 2026, at the Birmingham Ballroom in the Sheraton Birmingham Hotel.
This year’s class was chosen through a statewide selection committee via ballot. The eight distinguished inductees include notable figures from various sports: Jeff Brantley (Baseball, born September 5, 1963, Florence, AL), Jason Campbell (Football, born December 31, 1981, Laurel, MS), and John Copeland (Football, born September 20, 1970, Lanett, AL). Other inductees are Kim Evans (Golf/Coaching, born December 6, 1958, Decatur, AL), Evan Mathis (Football, born November 1, 1981, Birmingham, AL), Ray Odums (Basketball/Football, born October 30, 1951, Birmingham, AL), Lorraine “Les” Stuedeman (Softball/Coaching, born May 31, 1969, Tuscaloosa, AL), and Tommy Tuberville (Football/Coaching, born September 18, 1954, Camden, AR).
