‘An extraordinary honor’ — Albertville High School band invited to perform in Trump’s inaugral parade
On January 20, 2025, Donald Trump will be inaugurated as the 47th President of the United States, and the Albertville High School Aggie Band is gearing up to participate in this significant event. Band Director Taylor Cash announced on social media that the band has received an invitation to perform in the inaugural parade, marking their first appearance in Washington, D.C. “We’re thrilled to take about 350 kids with us. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be part of history,” Cash stated, highlighting the excitement of showcasing the band on a global stage.
Though the Aggie Band has previously performed at notable events like The Rose Bowl and Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, this is their inaugural parade debut. Cash expressed enthusiasm for putting these students in front of millions. State Representative Brock Colvin, an alumnus of Albertville High, plans to attend the inauguration to support the band. He emphasized the honor of such an occasion, noting that this marks a rare opportunity as inaugurations occur every four years, and this particular event is significant due to Trump’s unique non-consecutive reelection.
Colvin also mentioned that the invitation to the band was spontaneous, reflecting their national recognition. With eight to ten buses filled with students heading to the capital, the Aggie Band is excited to be part of a historic moment in American politics.
