UAB Women’s Soccer Kicks Off 2025 Season Against UCF
BIRMINGHAM – The UAB women’s soccer team is set to launch its 2025 season on Thursday night, hosting UCF at PNC Field with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. CT, airing live on ESPN+. In a community-focused initiative, fans are encouraged to bring school supplies for a back-to-school drive to receive discounted tickets.
Historically, UCF leads the all-time series against UAB with a record of 7-3-1, including a dominating 6-0 victory in their last meeting in 2012. This season, UAB has added 11 newcomers, featuring talent from both high schools and the transfer portal. However, the Blazers retain strong leadership with their top three goal-scorers from the previous season returning: Abbey Burns, who netted seven goals; Jette Zimmer, with four; and Sydney Bolinger, who contributed two. In total, UAB welcomes back 16 letterwinners.
On the other side, UCF finished their last season with a 3-6-6 record and returns six starters along with 13 letterwinners. The Knights have bolstered their roster with 12 new players, including eight transfers.
Tickets for UAB Women’s Soccer home matches are available, and the 2025-26 Gold Card offers access to all home events for various sports.
