Georgia Southern Eagles Kick Off Bowl Week in Birmingham
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Georgia Southern Eagles commenced their bowl week with a bustling first day in Birmingham, Alabama, as they gear up for the JLab Birmingham Bowl. The day started with an intense two-hour official practice at Sanford Stadium, where the team laid the groundwork for their upcoming matchup.
After practice, players dedicated their afternoon to community service, visiting the Birmingham VA Medical Center and Children’s of Alabama Hospital from 1 to 3 p.m. Team members engaged with patients, families, and hospital staff, fostering meaningful connections during their outreach. Notable visits included a group of players, such as Brandon Stoner and Kebba Secka, who spent time at the Children’s Hospital, while others, including Chance Carroll and Jacob Ferguson, connected with veterans at the VA Medical Center.
As the day drew to a close, the team gathered for a team dinner from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Stone Age Korean BBQ, allowing the players and staff a moment to unwind and strengthen camaraderie. The night concluded with a fun outing at Dave & Buster’s, marking a spirited end to a busy day filled with activities.
Looking ahead, the Eagles are set to continue their preparations as they aim for a successful performance in the JLab Birmingham Bowl, scheduled for Monday, December 29, at 2 p.m. ET.
