Cumulus Media Rebrands Sports Stations in Alabama as “Jox”
Cumulus Media has unified its sports radio stations in Alabama under the “Jox” brand, enhancing its presence in the market with a cohesive identity. This strategic move follows the success of WJOX-FM (94.5) in Birmingham, now serving as the flagship station. The rebranding includes stations WUMP (Huntsville), WMSP (Montgomery), and WXQW (Mobile), positioning them under the same banner.
Listeners can expect a consistent lineup with all five “Jox” stations featuring popular programming such as “Morning Jox,” hosted by Conrad Van Order and Damian Mitchell from 6-7 a.m., followed by Greg McElroy and Cole Cubelic from 7-10 a.m. Additionally, “3 Man Front,” with Pat Smith, Landrum Roberts, Molly Robinson, and Van Order, takes the midday slot.
WUMP will air “The Jim Rome Show” in the afternoons, complemented by “The Johnny Ballpark Franks Show” from 5-7 p.m., and Infinity Sports Radio at night. In Montgomery, WMSP will broadcast “The Chuck Oliver Show” during afternoons, along with ESPN Radio content that continues to air on WJOX-FM and WXKW.
Further developments include WJQX (100.5) Birmingham simulcasting WJOX-FM’s programming and targeting the Tuscaloosa area, solidifying Cumulus Media’s commitment to delivering engaging sports content across the state.
