GSCC to host free construction recruitment hiring events
Gadsden State Community College to Host Free Hiring Events for Alabama Construction Careers
Gadsden State Community College is collaborating with the Alabama Construction Recruitment Institute (ACRI) and Alabama Talent Solutions to offer two free hiring events aimed at facilitating entry into commercial construction careers for Alabamians. Part of the ACRI Go Build Alabama Initiative, these events focus on educating young people about the benefits of pursuing trade careers.
At both events, attendees will have the chance to meet multiple commercial construction employers, discuss career opportunities, and learn about training programs offered through Gadsden State, ACRI, and affiliated partners. “Go Build Alabama is proud to connect Alabamians with genuine opportunities in commercial construction,” says Jason Phelps, Executive Director of ACRI. He emphasizes that the initiative is not merely about filling jobs; it’s about fostering career paths and reinforcing community support to ensure North Alabama’s economic growth.
Andy Robertson, Dean of Workforce Development at Gadsden State, highlights the significance of this collaboration between education, industry, and workforce organizations. Both students and the public are invited to participate, reflecting a commitment to providing meaningful career access.
The first event is scheduled for Monday, November 10, 2025, at the East Broad Campus in Gadsden from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., followed by a second event on Wednesday, November 12, at the Ayers Campus in Anniston, during the same time.
These initiatives underscore ongoing efforts to strengthen Alabama’s economic landscape through skilled workforce development.
