October Events in Huntsville: A Month Full of Music, Sports, and Festivities
As October approaches, Huntsville gears up for an exciting array of events, perfect for celebrating the fall season. Notable highlights include the 58th Annual Tennessee Valley Old Time Fiddlers Convention (Oct. 1-4), featuring over 200 musicians and craft vendors, with ticket prices starting at $20.
On October 3-4, the Tangled String Music & Arts Festival will showcase over a dozen bands across two stages at John Hunt Park, offering weekend passes from $109. Also on these dates, the Breakaway Festival at The Orion Amphitheater, headlined by The Chainsmokers, promises an eclectic mix of genres with tickets starting at $170.
Several concerts are also scheduled, including performances by Lyle Lovett at Decatur’s Princess Theatre on Oct. 4 and Billy Strings returning to The Orion (Oct. 23-25) after his sold-out show last year.
Sports enthusiasts can enjoy Alabama A&M’s Homecoming celebrations from Oct. 4-12, culminating in a game against Mississippi Valley State, alongside the Huntsville City FC’s final home game on Oct. 5.
Theater buffs won’t want to miss Back to the Future: The Musical (Oct. 1-5) and the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra’s live scoring of Psycho on Oct. 30. Halloween-themed events, such as the Cemetery Stroll and Spellbound at Huntsville Botanical Garden, add to the festive spirit.
