Off-Duty Huntsville Officer Arrested on Burglary and Kidnapping Charges
An off-duty Huntsville police officer, Brandon O’Field, 41, faces serious charges following a domestic violence incident in Madison County on Thanksgiving morning. According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Department, deputies received a call around 5 a.m. regarding a disturbance on Keva Street in Meridianville. Upon arrival, they discovered two individuals who reported that O’Field, the ex-boyfriend of one of the victims, had forcibly entered their home.
O’Field was spotted driving in the vicinity but evaded law enforcement, leading deputies on a high-speed chase that reportedly exceeded 100 mph. After fleeing, he returned to his residence and barricaded himself inside. Following a brief standoff, deputies successfully apprehended him.
O’Field now faces multiple charges, including first-degree burglary and two counts of first-degree kidnapping. He is currently being held without bond under Anaiah’s Law, which pertains to domestic violence offenders. The investigation has been taken over by Major Crimes Detectives at the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, who are conducting a thorough review of the incident. The alarming nature of these charges against an active law enforcement officer has raised concerns within the community about domestic violence and police conduct.
