Michael Rapaport claims Alabama show cancelled over Israel support
Michael Rapaport’s Birmingham Show Canceled Amid Protests Over Israel Support
Comedian Michael Rapaport announced that his show at the Stardome Comedy Club in Birmingham, Alabama, was abruptly canceled due to protests and threats linked to his outspoken support for Israel. Taking to social media, Rapaport expressed his dismay, stating, “I did not cancel. I would never cancel—especially since I’m already here in Birmingham, ready to perform.”
He elaborated that the cancellation was due to demonstrations against his advocacy for Israel and for the release of 50 hostages held in Gaza. Rapaport remarked on the irony of being protested for demanding the release of individuals who have been in captivity for 670 days. He expressed pride in his stance, saying, “It’s embarrassing. It’s sad. But I’m not ashamed.”
Despite the controversy, Rapaport shared a positive experience from his time in Birmingham, noting a meaningful encounter with members of the Jewish community and participating in the mitzvah of wrapping tefillin.
As of now, the Stardome venue has not provided commentary on the cancellation. The event page for Rapaport’s show appears to have been removed, with indications that the show was set to take place on Tuesday evening. Fox News Digital has reached out to the Stardome for further clarification but has not received a response.
