North Alabama Basketball Star Jacari Lane Enters Transfer Portal
In a significant development for North Alabama’s men’s basketball program, star player Jacari Lane has officially entered the NCAA transfer portal after an illustrious three-season career. The decision, confirmed by sources to AL.com, was communicated to the North Alabama staff on Wednesday night.
A standout guard from Huntsville, Lane earned back-to-back first team All-ASUN Conference honors, showcasing exceptional talent with an average of 17.3 points, 4 assists, and 3.2 rebounds per game during his junior year. His performance helped establish him as a key player in the program’s history, as he set Division I records for overall scoring, scoring average, and 3-point shooting percentage.
Throughout his tenure at North Alabama, Lane accumulated an impressive 1,484 points, making him the leading scorer in the program’s Division I era, and placing him fourth on the all-time scoring list behind three hall of fame players. Prior to making his mark at North Alabama, Lane gained recognition while playing for Lee High School, where he led his team to consecutive Class 5A state championships. As a senior, he earned first team all-state honors and was named AL.com’s Tennessee Valley Player of the Year.
Lane’s entry into the transfer portal opens up new opportunities for the talented player as he seeks to continue his basketball career at another institution.
