Northside Makes Program History in 45-14 Win Over ACA
Northside Rams Achieve Historic Undefeated Season
The Northside Rams have made history in the Tuscaloosa area by completing their regular season undefeated for the first time ever, following a decisive 45-14 victory over American Christian Academy. This achievement adds to the Rams’ legacy as one of the top-performing football teams in the region.
Fourteen years ago, Northside was a struggling program, but significant changes began with the hiring of former coach Chris Hilliker in 2012. Over nine seasons, Hilliker led the Rams to a commendable 76-27 record and secured playoff berths every year, including a notable third-round appearance in 2019.
After Hilliker’s retirement in 2021, new coach Robbie Jones has maintained the program’s high standards and has now guided the team to its groundbreaking season. The Rams’ offense, powered by junior quarterback Jackson Rhoades, has set multiple school records, scoring 496 points and averaging 49.6 points per game this season. Rhoades has been exceptional, notably throwing for over 300 yards and five touchdowns in a key game against Demopolis.
The Rams’ defensive unit has also excelled, conceding only 102 points throughout the season—a mere 10.2 points per game. As they prepare for the playoffs, Northside is poised to extend its ten-game winning streak when they host Beauregard on November 7. With the momentum of a historic season, the Rams are ready to pursue their first playoff victory under Coach Jones.
