Oregon State Gymnastics Shines in NCAA Tuscaloosa Regional Semifinal
In a thrilling semifinal round of the NCAA Tuscaloosa Regional, Oregon State gymnastics secured second place with an impressive team score of 197.050, paving the way to the Regional Final on Sunday. Led by standout Jade Carey, who earned a perfect score in the floor exercise, the Beavers showcased remarkable talent, with Carey winning or tying for first in all five events—vault, bars, beam, floor, and the all-around.
During a strong final rotation on floor, Oregon State achieved an outstanding score of 49.525, with pivotal contributions from Savannah Miller and Olivia Buckner, each scoring 9.850, followed by Sophia Esposito’s 9.875. Kaitlin Garcia and Sage Thompson elevated the performance with 9.900s before Carey capped it off with a perfect 10, resulting in a total all-around score of 39.850 for Carey. This marks her third consecutive flawless routine on floor.
Prior to the floor routine, the beam lineup exhibited resilience, capitalizing on crucial scores to generate momentum for the team. Each of the five counted scores exceeded 9.825, with Carey leading with a 9.950, helping the Beavers open a sizeable cushion. As Oregon State prepares for its matchup against No. 3 Florida, No. 6 California, and No. 12 Alabama in the regional final, they continue to exemplify excellence and determination in their pursuit of championship glory.
