Participants can submit a poem or essay focusing on themes such as cherished memories of local places, humorous historical events, notable individuals who embody the spirit of Oxford, or significant community events that demonstrate the city’s excellence.
The contest is open to adults aged 19 to 100, with entries required to be original and a maximum of 500 words. Plagiarism and AI-generated submissions will not be considered. The submission deadline is June 16, 2025. Winners will be recognized during the city’s 4th of July celebration at Oxford Lake and featured in various community events, publications, and social media platforms.
This contest presents a unique opportunity for Oxford residents to unite, celebrate their city, and display their storytelling talents.
