Huntsville Gears Up for 13th Annual Community Kite Festival
The City of Huntsville, in collaboration with the Ray of Hope Foundation, is inviting residents to join the celebration at the 13th Annual Community Kite Festival on Saturday, March 1, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at John Hunt Park Festival Grounds. This free event emphasizes inclusiveness and community spirit, welcoming both seasoned kite flyers and novices alike.
The festival promises a vibrant atmosphere with colorful kites soaring in the sky, complemented by a variety of food trucks and activities designed for children. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own kites or purchase one on-site, and to enhance their experience, blankets or chairs are recommended for a comfortable way to enjoy the festivities.
Randy Barbour, Director of the City’s Office of Multicultural Affairs, expressed enthusiasm for the event, highlighting its role in uniting families from diverse backgrounds. Meanwhile, James Gossett, Director of Huntsville Parks & Recreation, underscored the significance of John Hunt Park as a prime venue for outdoor gatherings that foster community connections.
