Noah Lee Commits to Jacksonville State, Strengthening Local Ties
JACKSONVILLE — In a significant announcement Tuesday, Noah Lee, a three-star quarterback from Jacksonville Christian, declared his commitment to play for Jacksonville State (Jax State) via Instagram, marking the beginning of his senior year with the Thunder. Lee’s decision comes after receiving multiple offers, including East Carolina and South Alabama, but ultimately he emphasized the importance of staying close to home, a sentiment echoed in his post titled “Staying home.”
Lee has deep roots with Jax State; his father, Steven Lee, played for the Gamecocks, and he has been inspired by former quarterback Eli Jenkins. Jenkins played a pivotal role in encouraging Noah to pursue the quarterback position and has been a mentor throughout his journey. Following his recent official visit, Lee felt a strong connection with the coaching staff, particularly offensive coordinator Clint Trickett and head coach Charles Kelly, who emphasized player development and a shared vision for the program’s future.
Lee’s commitment joins a flurry of recent signings from the Oxford area. Oxford wide receiver Jaylin Taylor committed to Marshall, while Keenan Britt solidified his pledge to South Carolina, and running back Caleb Wynn chose South Alabama. As the local football scene heats up, Lee’s decision stands as a testament to the growing influence of homegrown talent in college athletics.
