Ty Cole Dominates to Win Fourth Gadsden City Championship
GADSDEN — Ty Cole showcased his golfing prowess by clinching his fourth Gadsden City Championship with a commanding wire-to-wire victory. Competing at the Twin Bridges course, Cole finished the tournament with a remarkable score of 12 under par, shooting 132 over the two days—66 in both rounds—outpacing second-place John Rollins by seven shots.
Reflecting on his performance, Cole expressed satisfaction, noting that it reminded him of his peak years on the Calhoun County Golf Tour, where he was a six-time Player of the Year. His previous Gadsden wins came in 2014, 2017, and 2023, with the latest championship marking the perfect start to his 2025 season.
Cole’s journey into this season began with a third-place finish at Cane Creek, and despite not playing many rounds leading up, he delivered a stellar competition at Twin Bridges. After his initial round, he opted to relax at home instead of practicing, a decision that seems to have paid off. His solid play included an eagle on the 11th hole and an impressive back nine.
As Cole looks forward to the Pine Hill Invitational next weekend, he remains optimistic, hoping to maintain the rhythm and confidence that guided him to victory. “Everything is the way I want it,” he said, as he aims to continue his strong performance in the upcoming events of the Calhoun County Golf Tour.
