Tip Top Cafe, rebooted legendary Huntsville, Alabama music dive bar announces first shows
Tip Top Café Announces Reopening with Exciting Lineup
After nearly a decade of anticipation, Huntsville, Alabama’s iconic music venue, Tip Top Café, is set to reopen with a fresh lineup of shows. Originating as a dive bar in the mid-’80s, Tip Top has hosted now-famous bands like Widespread Panic, Goo Goo Dolls, and The Black Crowes during its heyday. The revamped establishment, operated by John Chamness and Evan Billiter, will celebrate its return with local acts, including King’s Haze on November 29 and Them Damn Dogs on December 6.
Notably, the reopening will feature a special show on December 13 with The Ladies Of…, which includes Huntsville guitarist Jim Troglen, performing alongside opener Dave Anderson Project, led by Huntsville music legend Dave Anderson. The initial schedule also highlights a blues jam on November 27, hosted by Otis Walker.
Tip Top’s revival goes beyond music; it will also feature Veloce Pizza, run by Trevar Akins of the local Beastie Boys tribute band, Beastie Goys. The café’s rich history includes memorable shows from underground heroes and roots music icons, alongside anecdotes of celebrity sightings.
Located at 125 Maple Ave. in the Lincoln Mill area, Tip Top Café promises to reignite the vibrant musical spirit it once embodied, making it a must-visit destination for live music enthusiasts.
