Tuscaloosa SantaCon Bar Crawl to Return, Benefit Turning Point
Tuscaloosa’s SantaCon Bar Crawl Returns with a Charitable Twist
This week, the Tuscaloosa Bar Owners Association is bringing back the beloved SantaCon bar crawl, scheduled for this Friday. Dressed in festive red coats, participants will wander between twelve local bars on the Strip, downtown, and beyond, starting at 7 p.m. The event is not just a fun night out; it’s also a chance to support the community. Each attendee is encouraged to donate toys, home supplies, and bath essentials for Turning Point, a vital local nonprofit that assists victims of domestic abuse.
Organizer Bo Hicks shared that SantaCon began as a lighthearted tradition among friends but evolved into a meaningful opportunity to contribute positively to society. This year, donations will support Turning Point’s Santa’s Sleigh drive, continuing the event’s legacy of spreading joy while enjoying a night out.
For those eager to join, donations can also be dropped off at Hicks’ Druid City Brewing Company on Thursday or the Houndstooth prior to the event. Participants should be at least 21 years old and commit to drinking responsibly, with drink specials available at each bar for under $5. Expect to spend 15-30 minutes at each stop, with festivities expected to wind down around 1:30 a.m. Join the fun while supporting a commendable cause in Tuscaloosa!
