Vicksburg Native Tyler Henderson Joins University of Alabama Football Team
Tuscaloosa, Ala. (VDN) — Tyler Henderson, a promising football talent from Vicksburg, has confirmed his commitment to the University of Alabama after initially agreeing to join Kennesaw State University in December. Henderson’s path to Alabama comes on the heels of an impressive stint at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, where he emerged as a standout player by leading the nation in receiving yards.
During his time with the Bulldogs, Henderson recorded an impressive 68 receptions, averaging 109.3 yards per game, and scored 12 touchdowns. His remarkable performance culminated in 1,228 receiving yards and 13 total receiving touchdowns, which earned him a place on the All-Region Team. Under his influence, the Bulldogs achieved a commendable 9-2 record and competed in the MACCC championship.
Having graduated from Vicksburg High School in 2024, Henderson was initially viewed as an underrated prospect; however, he quickly transformed that narrative. After two notable seasons at Gulf Coast, he became one of the top junior college players in the nation, attracting interest from over 35 Division 1 programs before ultimately choosing Alabama. His playmaking skills are expected to make a significant impact on the Crimson Tide’s offensive lineup this season.
