Keel Point Establishes Professorship in Family Wealth at UAH
Keel Point, an independent wealth advisory firm, has announced the creation of the Keel Point Professorship in Family Wealth at The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) College of Business. The initiative is supported by a four-year, $100,000 commitment from the firm and will commence in the 2025-2026 academic year. The UA System Board of Trustees approved this initiative during its meeting on April 4, 2025.
Robert C. Mayes, CEO of Keel Point, expressed pride in this partnership, emphasizing its significance in advancing education and research in family wealth management. The professorship will empower future leaders with the necessary skills to manage and preserve generational wealth. It aims to support faculty members specializing in family wealth studies and will fund research, curriculum innovation, and community engagement initiatives to enhance the college’s capabilities in this field.
Dr. Jason Greene, dean of the College of Business, commended Keel Point for its leadership and investment in developing knowledge and strategies related to family wealth. Mayes, a UAH alumnus, shared his appreciation for the institution’s evolution and its crucial role in the local labor force. He highlighted that the commitment made by Keel Point reflects a collective effort from the firm’s 80 professionals dedicated to guiding families in responsible financial planning, forging a meaningful connection between the firm and the university.
