Warhawks fall to Alabama Huntsville 73-53 on Thursday
Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) Women’s Basketball team faced a challenging match against Alabama Huntsville (UAH) on Thursday night, suffering a 73-53 defeat. The Warhawks struggled significantly in the first quarter, managing a mere 11 points with a shooting percentage of only 26. Despite facing a strong opponent, the team showed resilience in the second quarter, managing to narrow the deficit to nine points, bringing the score to 36-27. Freshman Tamora Brown emerged as a key player for AUM, contributing seven points in the first half.
However, the second half proved to be a turning point for the Chargers, who accelerated their momentum with an efficient 53% shooting from the field, including three successful three-pointers. In contrast, AUM’s offense stalled, and the team could only muster 23 points after the halftime break. Despite their efforts, the Warhawks were unable to close the gap or regain control of the game.
With this loss, AUM’s season record fell to 11-13 overall and 9-10 in conference play, while UAH improved to 21-5 overall and 16-4 in their conference standings. As the season progresses, AUM will need to regroup and refine their strategies to enhance their performance in upcoming games.
