Meet the 5 best boys basketball players in Alabama for the 2024-2025 season
The Alabama Sports Writers Association recently unveiled its Super All-State team for boys high school basketball during the annual Player of the Year Banquet in Montgomery, highlighting the standout players for the 2024-2025 season. This year, all five honorees are seniors, with four competing in Class 7A.
Leading the pack is DeWayne Brown from Hoover, recognized as Mr. Basketball 2025. The two-time Class 7A Player of the Year averaged 15 points, 10.4 rebounds, and 2.8 blocks per game, contributing to Hoover’s perfect 35-0 season. He has committed to Tennessee.
Austin “Woo” Coner of Pinson Valley was named the 6A Player of the Year, averaging 17.6 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 4.1 assists, guiding his team to the championship game before committing to Oklahoma Baptist.
Jacoby Hill from Central-Phenix City consistently impressed, averaging 27 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 7.8 assists, earning him a spot as a finalist for 7A Player of the Year. He will take his talents to Jacksonville State.
Salim London, also from Hoover, played a key role in their championship success, averaging 16 points and helping secure a first-team All-State selection. He’s set to play at UAB.
Lastly, J.D. Gossett of Huntsville led his team to a dramatic regional final and will play for Samford. The Super All-State team showcases the elite talent shaping Alabama’s high school basketball landscape.
